Example

Your account Equity balance is 1,000 You open a trade in GBP/USD at maximum leverage 1:400, deal size is 400,000 (1,000 X 400) Your Used Margin is now 1,000 If your Open P&L falls to a loss of 960, your Equity is now equal to 40. At this point, your Equity is 4% of your Used Margin and your open positions will be closed out starting with your greatest losing position first.

Explanation of Automatic Tradeout

Trading with leverage is high risk and markets can move very quickly. While it is possible to lose more than your original deposit there are automated systems in place to prevent your trading account falling into a debit balance.

If your Equity balance falls to 4% of your Used Margin then open positions will be automatically closed out starting with the highest losing position first.
